Role Description

The Senior Solidworks Mechanical Design role involves applying engineering principles and customer insights to configure AGV models and design system components like load handling frames. The role requires knowledge of mechanical principles, CAD modeling, manufacturing drawings, and product data management. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including site visits and design reviews, is essential. The candidate should have a passion for mobility and Industry 4.0 technologies, contributing to manufacturing growth in America.

Responsibilities

1. Lead design collaborations with stakeholders to promote mobility solutions.
2. Engage with senior clients to define project scopes and develop design concepts.
3. Visit customer sites to understand needs and develop system concepts using sketches and SolidWorks models.
4. Support R&D by designing new products aligned with the 5-Year Product Roadmap.
5. Configure AGV models for specific applications using established standards.
6. Create custom load handling and system component designs.
7. Integrate models for large systems involving AGVs, tooling, conveyors, and test stations.
8. Collaborate with vendors for purchase components.
9. Manage budgets to meet customer needs and standards.
10. Plan and communicate project activities according to company policies.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a passion for mobility and advanced technology, with previous CAD experience, preferably in SolidWorks. Organizational skills, flexibility, and a customer-focused attitude are vital. Education-wise, an Associate's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related field is preferred, with at least 5 years of SolidWorks tooling experience.
