What You Will Do:

The Design Engineer will support sales and design efforts by creating and managing designs for new product development. This includes acting as the CAD lead for the data center team, requiring expertise in SolidWorks, creativity, design for manufacturability, and excellent time management and communication skills.

  • Design new parts in the ERP system, develop BOMs, and create 3D models/2D prints for production and customer approval.
  • Apply engineering simulations to heat exchanger designs.
  • Manage product assemblies, integrating heat exchanger designs as needed.
  • Assist in detailing standard costs of product designs with Project and Applications Engineers.
  • Support manufacturing by updating BOMs, maintaining part information and drawings, and providing technical support.
  • Author and distribute technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to validate outputs and analyze results to produce high-quality products.
  • Work with internal teams to define project scope, costs, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to setting team priorities, providing technical leadership.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in heat exchanger technology.
  • Share insights on technology, applications, markets, and competitors.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant industry experience, preferably with heat transfer specialization.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks CAD software, including automated modeling features.
  • Experience with designing aluminum, shell & tube, and plate heat exchangers.
  • Knowledge of product development processes and procedures.
  • Awareness of AI trends in 3D modeling and ability to incorporate AI into design processes.
  • Understanding of the data center industry is a plus.
  • Collaborative, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is desirable.
