What You Will Do:

The Design Engineer will support our growing sales and design efforts by creating and managing designs for new product development projects, functioning as the dedicated CAD operator of the data center team. This position requires an individual with expert knowledge of SolidWorks, high creativity, design for manufacturability knowledge, and excellent time management and communication skills.

  • Create new parts in the ERP system, manufacturing Bill Of Materials (BOM), and 3D modeling / 2D prints for production and customer approval.
  • Develop and execute application engineering technology simulation into heat exchanger design.
  • Develop and manage product assemblies with integration of heat exchanger designs as required.
  • Assist the Project Engineer and Applications Engineer in detailing standard costs of product designs.
  • Support manufacturing by fixing, updating, and maintaining BOMs, fixing part info & drawings, providing drawings, and answering questions as needed.
  • Author and distribute technical documents as required.
  • Support the team in validating output, analyzing results, and producing world-class products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define project scope, costs, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Contribute to special projects with the project team.
  • Help set project priorities and provide technical leadership.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heat exchanger technology.
  • Gather and share technology, application, market, and competitor information.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or proven industry experience, with heat transfer specialization preferred.
  • Expert knowledge and operation of SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Ability to develop automated 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks.
  • Experience with automated features for 2D print generation.
  • Product knowledge or design experience with aluminum bar & plate, shell & tube, or plate heat exchangers.
  • Experience with new product development processes.
  • Knowledge of AI trends in 3D modeling and ability to implement AI into modeling and assemblies (preferred).
  • Knowledge of the data center industry (preferred).
  • Collaborative, analytical, and solution-focused mindset.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment (desired).
