Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to drive the design and development of new Power Tools products within the Power Tools department. You will lead a small team of engineers and designers, partnering with Project Leaders and Global teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of design experience, strong CAD/FEA skills, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics required.
• 5+ years of design experience in relevant field.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (ProE/Creo, SolidWorks, NX) and FEA.
• Experience mentoring designers and leading teams on projects.
• Familiarity with AI tools to boost productivity and rigor.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% (domestic/international).
• Interest in construction tools or Outdoor Power Equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new Power Tools products.
• Manage 1–3 direct reports of Designers/Engineers.
• Provide engineering data to Project Leaders and Global teams.
• Establish test regimens and deliver data to support design decisions.
• Mentor engineers and serve as a technical resource.
• Carry out mechanical analyses: stress, tolerances, gearing, fluid dynamics, NVH, mechanisms.
