Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to lead mid/high complexity Power Tool NPD projects. You will act as a technical reference, guide cross-functional teams, and develop robust analyses and test plans for design decisions.

Expect to mentor peers, apply first principles, and drive system-level thinking across hardware, controls, and user inputs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of machine design experience.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD Modeling.
• Deep mechanical aptitude including materials and manufacturing processes.
• Travel up to 10% (domestic and international).
• Interest in tools of construction trades and innovative product development.
• Motivation to grow and be challenged by the unknown.
• Experience with closed-loop systems and precision torque/control.
• Strong foundation in process control and statistics.
• System-level thinking of hardware, controls, and user/environment inputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical resource on mid/high complexity Power Tool New Product Development projects.
• Provide clear technical information to cross functional teammates and engineering teams.
• Establish test regimens and deliver data analysis to support design decisions.
• Mentor engineering and non-engineering teammates.
• Apply first principles to create models and support decision-making.
• Perform mechanical stress analysis on linear and nonlinear systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve technical challenges.
• Execute tolerance stack analyses (statistical and geometric).
• Design and analyze gear-driven systems and mechanisms, including vibration.
• Maintain holistic system thinking and plan with interdisciplinary peers.
• Create and execute plans to inform early-stage development with empirical and analytical methods.
• Operate effectively in a high-paced development environment.
• Motivate and support learning within the team.
