Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for its Low Voltage Motor and Generator team in Mossville, IL. You will spearhead development of next-generation motor and generator components, balancing performance, durability, and cost while ensuring manufacturability and serviceability.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of motor and generator components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into mechanical specs.
• Perform design analysis, FMEA, and risk management to mitigate failures.
• Drive design reviews using simulations, prototypes, testing, and cross-functional input.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to implement new designs and processes.
• Develop test plans with validation teams to demonstrate durability and thermal performance.
