Covenant Logistics in Fresno, CA seeks a Department Manager II to lead a department (Feed or Live Haul) across multiple locations, coordinating drivers and customer needs to improve processes and reduce costs while mentoring a team of experienced drivers.

As a key operations link, you will oversee dispatch, safety, performance, and attendance, maintain customer relations, and ensure on-time execution. Bachelor's degree and 3+ years transportation leadership are preferred, with CDL a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Valid CDL preferred.
• 3+ years transportation experience required.
• Leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department for multiple locations and complex customer needs.
• Manage dedicated fleet of professional drivers with authority on discipline and employment status.
• Direct and dispatch transportation activities within the department.
• Maintain customer relations through communication and visits.
• Monitor performance, attendance, safety, and fuel efficiency.
• Coach drivers and review loads to maximize utilization.
