Job summary

Isar Aerospace SE seeks an Account Manager Defense to own and develop key German defense accounts, with responsibilities spanning opportunity identification, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional execution. You will collaborate with engineering, program management, and legal teams to translate customer needs into opportunities and drive strategic defense engagements.

The role requires deep knowledge of German defense procurement, a robust network, and fluency in German and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Political Science, Security Studies, Aerospace, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in defense/aerospace/government sector.
• Proven experience managing relationships and strategic opportunities within the German defense ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of German defense procurement, budgeting, and capability development.
• Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments including military, procurement authorities, and government.
• Established network across defense stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Track record of identifying, developing, and securing complex opportunities with public-sector customers.
• Strong commercial, strategic, and political awareness.
• Excellent communication, influence, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in German and English.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary commercial interface with defense accounts and develop long-term account strategy.
• Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities from programs and capability development efforts.
• Build relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and procurement stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal resources for defense opportunities and align BD with company strategy.
• Provide market intelligence and strategic insights to commercial leadership.
