Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Regional Principal DCIM – Controls Build Quality Engineer to lead on-site controls implementation for new data center projects. You will oversee BMS, EPMS, PLC, and SCADA activities, drive standardization, and serve as the owner’s escalation point for controls issues.

The role requires a strong background in controls engineering, project management, and hands-on commissioning, with focus on safe, reliable, and high-quality installations aligned to QTS standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of instrumentation and controls programming/installation with data centers or similar facilities.
• 3+ years programming/designing HVAC control systems and electrical power monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with industrial automation and building management control systems (PLC/DDC).

Responsibilities

• Oversee system integrator selection and performance across all project phases.
• Lead on-site BMS/PLC/SCADA commissioning and verification activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project schedules and risks.
• Ensure adherence to DIV25 specifications and all design deliverables.
• Document issues, manage RFIs, and drive resolution to closure.
• Provide on-site support for testing, calibrations, and turnover of systems.
