Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Regional Principal DCIM – Controls Build Quality Engineer to lead on-site controls implementation for BMS, EPMS, PLC, and SCADA across new data center projects. You will drive standardization, ensure design-to-commissioning quality, and serve as the owner’s escalation point for controls issues.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of instrumentation and controls programming/installation, coordination, and commissioning for large-scale data centers or mission-critical buildings.
• 3+ years designing HVAC control systems and electrical power monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Experience with industrial automation and building management control systems (PLC/DDC).

Responsibilities

• Oversee system integrator selection, evaluation, and performance across project phases.
• Lead and onboard BMS/C&I contractors; manage audits and commissioning.
• Drive standardization and QA of BMS, PLC, and SCADA implementations on multiple sites.
• Identify risks in controls architecture and support process improvements.
• Manage issue tracking, RFI generation, and stakeholder communications.
• Conduct site visits to verify installation quality and commissioning progress.
