Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Regional Principal DCIM – Controls Build Quality Engineer to lead on-site controls for new data center builds. You will oversee BMS, EPMS, PLC, and SCADA implementations, ensure standards, and serve as owner’s escalation point for controls issues.

The role requires extensive controls engineering and project-management experience, with hands-on verification from design through turnover and a strong focus on safety, reliability, and quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in instrumentation and controls programming/installation and project management for large facilities.
• 3+ years programming/designing HVAC control systems and electrical power monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering/Construction Management.
• Experience with industrial automation and BMS/SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee system integration activities, manage CSI performance, and drive issue resolution.
• Lead BMS/PLC/SCADA inspections, commissioning, and quality assurance across projects.
• Coordinate multi-stakeholder meetings, track design deliverables, and ensure standardization.
• Identify risks, support tool integrations, and maintain documentation throughout projects.
