Job summary

QTS Data Centers in the United States seeks a Principal Data Center Infrastructure Management Delivery Engineer (DCIM-DE) to set design authority and standards for DCIM platforms across the portfolio. You will drive enterprise-wide controls, alarming strategies, and integration models to ensure reliability and scalability of our global infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or automation.
• 10+ years of control systems experience in mission-critical environments (data centers).
• Expert-level knowledge of EPMS, BMS, and SCADA platforms.
• Experience with Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens PLC platforms.
• Proficiency with BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, TCP/IP, SNMP, ISO 16484 standards.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage partner deliverables.
• Strong understanding of sequences of operations, instrumentation documentation, and alarm hierarchy design.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the DCIM Basis of Design (BOD) and owner requirements.
• Onboard AEOR Controls teams and Design System Integrators (DSI); conduct reviews.
• Direct design consultants on architecture, instrumentation, alarming, and integration.
• Develop enterprise-wide controls and alarming standards across BMS/EPMS/SCADA platforms.
• Define requirements for Aveva System Platform, Ignition, and open I/O frameworks.
• Review sequences of operations, system architecture, and P&ID diagrams.
• Establish naming conventions, alarming logic, and DCIM integration schemas.
• Oversee QA/QC during design, deployment, and commissioning.
• Drive digital twin and simulation initiatives to validate controls.
• Support procurement with SOW creation, RFP responses, and vendor onboarding.
• Serve as escalation point for DCIM execution issues.
• Influence control panel layout, I/O wiring diagrams, and system interlocks.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, IT, and construction teams.
• Manage design change requests, RFIs, and updates to DCIM docs.
• Contribute to alarm optimization using FMEA methodologies.
• Mentor regional engineers and partners on QTS standards.
