Job summary
Foley is seeking a senior Database Reliability Engineer to own production databases across Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift. You will lead high-availability, backup strategies, and security while guiding AWS data warehouse operations to scale performance and cost efficiency.
Your work will partner with Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to enable reliable reporting, analytics, and AI-enabled enhancements.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of production database experience.
- Deep MS SQL Server expertise including HA/DR.
- Hands-on AWS Redshift experience.
- Experience with database security and access controls.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with leadership.
- AI fluency and use of automation to improve reliability.
Responsibilities
- Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
- Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of MS SQL Server and Redshift.
- Design high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
- Own AWS-based data warehouse architecture for performance and cost efficiency.
- Partner with Data and Analytics for reporting and AI use cases.
- Manage database security and access controls.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security to meet standards.
- Proactively identify and mitigate data access, integrity, and availability risks.
- Drive automation and AI-assisted improvements in DBA operations.
