Job summary

Foley is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to own reliability, performance, and availability of our production databases. You will lead administration and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift within an AWS data warehouse environment, designing HA/DR strategies and ensuring cost-efficient, scalable architectures.

The role requires collaboration with Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in managing production database environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing, and HA/DR.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, including Amazon Redshift.
• Proven experience managing database security, access controls, and permissions in regulated or security-conscious environments.

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
• Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift environments.
• Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies that meet business SLAs.
• Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
• Own database security across platforms, including user access, roles, permissions, encryption, and auditing.
• Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure compliance with internal standards and external requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve reliability, monitoring, or efficiency.
