Job summary
Foley is seeking an experienced Database Architect/DBA to own reliability, performance, and availability of production databases. You will lead administration and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift in AWS, design HA/DR strategies, and drive automation and AI‑assisted improvements.
You will partner with Data, Analytics, Infrastructure, and Product teams to align database solutions with business needs while ensuring security and compliance.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience managing production database environments.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server with performance tuning and HA/DR.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, including Redshift.
- Experience managing database security and access controls in regulated environments.
- AI fluency and curiosity with automation or AI-enabled tooling.
Responsibilities
- Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
- Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift environments.
- Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies that meet business SLAs.
- Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
- Own database security across platforms, including user access, roles, permissions, encryption, and auditing.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Infrastructure, Engineering, and Analytics teams to align database solutions with product and business needs.
