Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support and optimize Db2 for z/OS and IDMS environments across production and non-production systems. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Db2 z/OS experience, strong SQL tuning skills, JCL expertise, and familiarity with Db2 utilities. Bachelor's degree required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including design, maintenance, tuning and production support.
• 3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools such as Query Monitor, OMEGAMON, and utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, SPUFI).
• 3+ years of advanced SQL performance tuning, access path analysis, and index management in Db2 z/OS.
• 3+ years of JCL development, DBA job scheduling, and 24x7 production on-call support.
• 1+ year of experience designing or supporting database replication in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across prod and non-prod environments, including migrations.
• Optimize performance via SQL tuning, access path analysis, index recommendations, RUNSTATS, and REORG.
• Develop automation to improve database administration and legacy support activities.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery testing.
• Support Db2 function level upgrades, version migrations, RSU maintenance, and utilities execution.
• Respond to incidents, change requests, audit inquiries, and production issues in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Provide technical guidance to development, infrastructure, and application teams.
