Job summary

Epicor Software Corp is seeking a Principal Database Administrator to ensure stability, security, and availability of GovCloud databases supporting Epicor customers. You will design, implement, and monitor databases, mentor team members, and drive best practices across the organization.

You will advise management, lead complex DB projects, and apply telemetry to keep systems reliable and performant, leveraging your extensive experience with SQL databases and MS Access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years' applicable experience with 3+ years specialized or industry experience.
• Ability to propose and implement new ideas, lead a team to meet deadlines, and manage schedules effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to mentor others.
• Analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
• Recognized as a thought leader and change agent.
• Expertise in running Microsoft Access queries and updates, with broad database management experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on database concepts and translate data models into designs that meet standards.
• Install, configure, and maintain DBMS software on servers.
• Design, implement, and maintain complex databases including security considerations.
• Apply telemetry and observability practices using Datadog to improve reliability and performance.
• Deliver training, mentorship, and support to other Database Admins.
• Recommend and implement best practices and monitor industry trends.
• Lead and manage database projects with deadlines and schedules.
