Job summary

Epicor is seeking a Principal Database Administrator to ensure the stability, security, and availability of GovCloud database environments that support Epicor customers. You will design, implement, and support databases to meet business needs while developing strategies and monitoring practices.

You will mentor team members and advise management on best practices for database management. You will lead complex database projects, ensure deadlines are met, and stay ahead of external trends to drive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in information technology, computer science, or related field.
Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience including 3+ years in specialized/industry roles.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Advise management on database concepts and translate requirements into standards-compliant designs.
Install, configure, and maintain database management systems on servers.
Design and maintain complex databases with attention to access methods, security, and performance.
Apply telemetry and observability practices using Datadog or similar tools to improve reliability and performance.
Deliver training, mentorship, and support to other Database Admins.
