Job summary

Epicor Software Corp is seeking a Principal Database Administrator to ensure the stability, security, and availability of GovCloud database environments supporting Epicor customers. You will design, implement, and support databases, advise management, mentor team members, and drive best practices in database management.

The role emphasizes leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering robust database solutions and guiding projects to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database experience including leadership/ specialist roles.
• BS in IT/CS or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lead a team and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication, mentoring.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Thought leader and change agent.
• Expertise in Microsoft Access queries and broad DB management.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on database concepts and translate data models into designs that meet standards.
• Install, configure, and maintain DBMS software on servers.
• Design, implement, and maintain complex databases with security and access controls.
• Apply telemetry and observability practices using Datadog to improve reliability and performance.
• Deliver training, mentorship, and support to other Database Admins.
• Recommend and implement best practices, stay current with external trends.
• Lead and manage database projects with deadlines and schedules.
