Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Senior Associate, Data Transformation & Governance to join GT GTech. This role combines governance, quality, and analytics to embed data standards into migrations and modernization efforts.

You will inventory and classify data across structured and unstructured content, collaborate with stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Risk, and IT, and help deliver trustworthy, governed data assets for analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Experience governing unstructured data and acquisitions preferred.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams across Legal, Privacy, Risk, IT, and business units.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise data governance frameworks for acquired-company integration, including standards, roles, ownership, stewardship routines, escalation, and performance metrics.
• Embed governance into data transformation initiatives, including data migration, modernization, archival, reporting, and analytics enablement.
• Build and maintain the data estate inventory for acquisitions, covering structured data and unstructured content.
• Catalog content by category, sensitivity, ownership, business purpose, and disposition; keep inventory current as discovery progresses.
• Prepare handling recommendations for content categories and provide them to teams during migration planning.
• Verify legal hold and preservation obligations before disposal or archival activity proceeds.
