Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Data Transformation & Governance Senior Associate to join the GTech team in the United States. The role drives governance, quality, stewardship, and data standards within transformation initiatives for acquisitions and analytics.

You will embed enterprise frameworks and support migration, archival, and reporting activities. The position requires 4+ years in data governance or related roles, with experience across data migration, unstructured content, and retention

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data governance, transformation, or related enterprise tech roles.
• Experience supporting governance for data migration, modernization, archival, analytics, or large programs.
• Knowledge of governance for unstructured and structured content across mail and collaboration platforms.
• Understanding of retention, disposal timing, and evidence for disposal.
• Familiarity with data protection, privacy, and cross‑functional governance standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; certifications in data governance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support enterprise data governance frameworks for acquisitions and integration.
• Embed governance requirements into migration, modernization, and analytics enablement.
• Build and maintain data estate inventory across structured data, mail, files, and collaboration content.
• Catalog content by category, ownership, purpose, and retention; keep inventory current.
• Prepare handling recommendations for data categories for migration planning.
• Document data ownership, approvals, and hold status; support defensible disposal activities.
