Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Data Security Analyst — Master to lead enterprise security controls across data, networks, apps, and cloud environments. The role requires deep hands-on Palo Alto expertise, Panorama, Cortex, Strata, and strong Cisco networking skills.

This senior role is fully remote within the United States. Responsibilities include deploying and managing next‑gen firewalls, central policy administration, and security analytics with Cortex.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity with hands-on firewall admin and IR
• Deep expertise Palo Alto next‑gen firewalls in enterprise env
• Panorama centralized policy admin, HA, logging, upgrades
• Palo Alto Strata NGFW features, App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID
• Palo Alto Cortex for detection, IR, SOAR, SIEM
• Investigate network-security issues using logs and telemetry
• Clearance to obtain AOUSC Public Trust

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, administer, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls across data center, campus, branch, cloud, and remote environments.
• Lead centralized firewall management using Palo Alto Panorama, including policy and HA workflows.
• Design and maintain security policies with least privilege and app-aware controls.
• Lead operational use of Palo Alto Strata to improve posture and segmentation.
• Deploy Cortex capabilities for security analytics and IR across enterprise.
• Investigate alerts, coordinate containment, eradication, and post-incident review.
• Develop detections, dashboards, and response playbooks with Cortex and SIEM tools.
• Maintain network diagrams, runbooks, and escalation procedures.
