Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Network & Security Engineer to lead design, operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of enterprise network-security infrastructure. Focus areas include Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, and Cortex XSIAM with Strata Logging Service.

The role serves as a technical escalation point and helps drive architecture initiatives while partnering with SOC, infrastructure, cloud, application, and leadership teams to reduce risk and ensure highly

Qualifications

8+ years in network engineering, security operations, or related field.
5+ years hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience in production environments.
Advanced experience with Palo Alto Panorama and multi-device policy management.

Responsibilities

Lead design, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments (PAN-OS).
Own centralized firewall management via Panorama, including device groups, templates, and policy inheritance.
Design and govern security policies using zero-trust, least-privilege, and risk-based principles.
Lead enterprise network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
Architect and troubleshoot HA deployments (Active/Passive/Active/Active).
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership during incidents and reviews.
