Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead enterprise network-security design, operation, and troubleshooting of Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, and HA deployments. The role collaborates with SOC, cloud, and infrastructure teams to reduce risk and ensure highly available services.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in network/security, 6+ years with Palo Alto firewalls, and deep expertise in zero-trust policies, VPNs, and microsegmentation. This is a fully remote US-based position.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 10+ years in network engineering/security roles.
• 6+ years Palo Alto firewall experience in enterprise.
• Experience with Panorama, NGFW, and HA designs.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own centralized firewall management with Panorama.
• Develop security policies using zero-trust and least-privilege.
• Configure VPNs, decryption, and threat prevention policies.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Architect and troubleshoot HA deployments and failovers.
• Collaborate with SOC, cloud, and infrastructure teams.
• Mentor engineers and drive runbooks and standards.
