Job summary

GovCIO seeks a senior Data Security Analyst — Master to design and operate enterprise security controls protecting data, networks, applications, and cloud environments. The role is fully remote within the United States and requires deep Palo Alto expertise and strong Cisco security capabilities.

In this senior individual‑contributor position, you will lead policy development, threat detection, incident response, and secure network segmentation across complex environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years in cybersecurity or equivalent.
• Deep expertise administering Palo Alto next‑gen firewalls in enterprise environments.
• Advanced experience with Panorama, including centralized policy administration and HA.
• Strong practical knowledge of Palo Alto Strata and Cortex security capabilities.
• Experience with XDR/EDR/SIEM technologies for detection and automation.
• Strong Cisco networking background and security capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls across data centers, campuses, and cloud.
• Lead centralized firewall management using Panorama and ensure policy governance.
• Design security policies with least privilege and threat prevention features.
• Operate Cortex for analytics, EDR, and automation within enterprise security.
• Investigate alerts, coordinate containment, and conduct post‑incident reviews.
• Develop detections, dashboards, and response playbooks; mentor analysts.
