Job summary

MAXIMUS is seeking a senior data science leader to interpret results, build classifiers, and guide analytic initiatives for strategic decision making. The role emphasizes statistical rigor, advanced ML, and collaboration with stakeholders.

You will expand data collection, develop automated anomaly detection, and oversee cross-functional project execution while staying current with emerging technologies to grow the team's capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research, computer science or related field.
• 7+ years in data analysis/science with strong data-driven decision making.
• Proficient in ML techniques and algorithms (k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, decision trees).
• Experience with data science toolkits and data viz tools.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret results using data aggregation, statistics, data mining and pattern recognition.
• Build and refine classifiers with modern ML techniques.
• Act as SME in data/analytics for peers and stakeholders.
• Identify suitable decision technologies for analytic frameworks.
• Develop automated anomaly detection and monitor model performance.
• Lead project management and coordinate team communications.
