Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, including DLP and DSPM solutions. You will work with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, and Varonis, and contribute to policy development and incident response.

You will design, deploy, and tune data protection controls across Windows and Linux, using PowerShell and Python to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field is required.
• Master's degree preferred in Information Security or related field; advanced cloud certs are a plus.
• 3+ years hands-on engineering principles; 5 years in information security, governance, risk, or compliance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure DLP, DSPM, and de-identification solutions and tune policies as needed.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document fixes and improvements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement data protection solutions.
• Develop scripts (PowerShell, Python) to automate deployment and maintenance tasks.
