Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement, maintain, and support data protection infrastructure and applications. You will work with DLP, DSPM, and de-identification solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure), and help shape engineering standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, and Varonis, plus strong scripting in PowerShell/Python and collaboration with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5 years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software
• 5 years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell).
• 3 years of experience with designing and providing architectural support to two cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related field
• Advanced cloud certifications in GCP/AWS/Azure (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect/Security Engineer)

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain DLP/DSPM components across platforms.
• Collaborate on data protection design for on-prem and cloud environments.
• Configure and maintain data protection policies and sensitive information types.
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation.
• Use PowerShell and Python to improve tooling and deployment.
• Collaborate with team to expand data protection knowledge.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
