Job summary

Moderna in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Data Product Manager to own prioritization, definition, and delivery of data products and AI use cases across the CMC organization. You will bridge business and technical teams, translating operational needs into data product definitions with governance built in from the start.

You will work with domain SMEs and engineers to ensure ownership, measurable value, and adoption in workflows, defining SLAs, data lineage, and quality criteria while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Data Science, or related field.
• 4+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech or regulated industries with CMC exposure.
• 6+ years delivering data, analytics, or digital solutions in production workflows.
• Familiarity with data concepts: modeling, quality, cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical systems and data domains (Veeva, SAP, MES, LIMS).
• Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable engineering requirements.
• Experience producing specifications, use cases, or data product briefs.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to align and trade off.
• Knowledge of data governance, ownership, access, and quality in enterprise data products.
• Understanding of GxP, data integrity, and compliance for data/AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own prioritization and sequencing of data products and AI use cases based on measurable business value.
• Define data products end-to-end from use case to production, including consumers, SLAs, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure data products have defined ownership, classification, access, and lineage in line with governance.
• Ensure data products are production-ready and operationally viable, not just analytically correct.
• Define data quality, validation, and traceability requirements for GxP compliance.
• Drive adoption within operational workflows by measuring usage and gathering feedback.
• Apply an AI-first mindset to augment workflows and define required data.
• Maintain a living backlog with items linked to business outcomes and data readiness.
• Partner with engineering on testing, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate across data engineering, platform, analytics, and business teams to manage dependencies.
