Job summary

Moderna is seeking a Data Product Manager to own prioritization, definition, and delivery of data products and AI use cases across its CMC organization. You will translate operational challenges into governed data products and ensure governance and compliance are embedded from the start.

You will define data products end-to-end, secure cross-functional collaboration, and drive adoption across QA, QC, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, building measurable value and scalable AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, CS, life sciences, data science, or related field.
• 4+ years in pharma/biotech or regulated industries with CMC exposure.
• 6+ years delivering data analytics or digital solutions in production workflows.
• Familiarity with data modeling, data quality, and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical systems (Veeva, SAP, MES, LIMS).
• Ability to translate business needs into clear engineering requirements.
• Experience producing specifications or data product briefs for builders.
• Experience with cross-functional stakeholders and tradeoff communication.
• Experience with data governance concepts: ownership, access, quality.
• Understanding of GxP, data integrity and compliance for analytics/AI.

Responsibilities

• Own prioritization and sequencing of data products and AI use cases based on business value.
• Define data products end-to-end, including consumers, SLAs, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure data products have ownership, classification, access, and lineage per governance.
• Make data products production-ready and operationally viable, not just analytical.
• Define data quality, validation, and traceability for GxP compliance.
• Drive adoption by measuring usage, feedback, and iterative improvements.
• Apply AI-first mindset to augment workflows and define required data for AI agents.
• Maintain a living backlog with items linked to business outcomes and data readiness.
• Collaborate with engineers for testing, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate across data engineering, platform, analytics, and business teams; communicate tradeoffs.
