Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to solve complex problems and drive customer success across multiple project phases. You will engage with architects, developers, and operators to implement scalable MongoDB solutions.

You will train customers, collaborate with delivery teams, and help shape the MongoDB roadmap while traveling up to 15% of the time to customer sites. This role blends deep technical work with client management in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development/consulting/support experience
• Competence in at least one of the listed languages (Java, C#, Python, Node.js, Ruby, Go)
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic skills, and problem-solving abilities
• High motivation for a role combining deep technical and customer-management work
• Confidence speaking and presenting in a collaborative customer setting
• Willingness to travel for short trips to customer sites up to 15%

Responsibilities

• Contribute to customer implementations at all phases of the application lifecycle: portfolio assessment, design, deployment architectures, development, integration, testing, operations, and optimization.
• Deliver customer classroom-based training to architect, developer, and operations roles
• Work as part of a wider delivery team with consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams
• Build MongoDB reputation as a trusted advisor guiding customers into the future
• Partner with Product and Engineering to influence the product roadmap
• Maintain billable utilization and influence product development with field experience
