Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Solutions Architect on the East Coast to lead pre-sales engagements for our Data Intelligence Platform. You will partner with sales to articulate business value, design distributed data solutions, and guide customers through architecture and implementation using Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog.

Travel to customer sites will be required. Ideally you have 7+ years in customer-facing roles, experience with cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), and strong programming

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales role or consulting role, preferably with big-data technologies to solve data engineering and analytics challenges.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming in or debugging Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers evaluating and adopting Databricks.
• Consult on big data architectures, run proofs of concept, and validate integrations with cloud services and third-party apps.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demonstrations for customers.
• Promote open source projects (Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog) within developer communities.
