Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead pre-sales efforts for the Data Intelligence Platform on the East Coast. You will collaborate with customers to design scalable architectures, run proofs of concept, and showcase the value of Databricks across data engineering, analytics, and AI workloads.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in customer-facing roles, strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and hands-on knowledge of Spark, Hadoop, and data warehousing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role with big-data technologies.
• Experience designing distributed data architectures.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiar with Spark, Hadoop, Kafka and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big-data architecture, execute proofs of concepts for strategic customer projects, and validate integrations with cloud services and other 3rd party applications.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demonstrate applications for customers.
• Become an expert in, and promote open source projects across developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars.
• Travel to meet with customers in your territory.
