Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to drive pre-sales in the East Coast. In this customer-facing role you will design data architectures, guide customers through Databricks solutions, and collaborate with sales and post-sales teams to deliver outcomes.

You will work with cloud platforms, data engineering and analytics experts, and travel to meet customers in your territory on the East Coast. A strong background in big-data tech is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with data engineering technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
• Experience with data warehousing technologies (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS)
• Undergraduate degree or higher in engineering or mathematics or related field

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve business problems
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks
• Consult on big data architecture, execute PoCs, and validate integrations with cloud services and 3rd party apps
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demos for customers
• Promote open source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow) across developer communities
• Travel to meet customers in your territory
