Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies. You will own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, enabling engineers to build high‑performance data‑driven applications.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with customer teams, and contribute to the roadmap. The role includes on‑call duties, a full‑time schedule, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5 years of applicable experience
• Strong experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python)
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data platform components for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues in data systems and serve as escalation point.
• Identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies.
