Affirm is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own delivery for the Lakehouse Infra domain, enabling ML, product and finance teams across data infrastructure. You will lead engineers, collaborate with product and analytics, and drive reliable, scalable data platforms.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years designing backend systems, hands-on with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes, and a track record of large-scale distributed solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, building and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes and distributed architectures.
• Proven ability to define technical plans for large features or components.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly goals for your team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics in ideation and trade-offs.
• Identify issues and drive resolution with measurable metrics.
• Maintain operations and on-call readiness for team artifacts.
