Job summary

NikoHealth is hiring a data platform engineer to own how data enters our platform, leaves it, and moves between databases. You’ll build a repeatable migration pipeline, add CI with dry-runs, and quantify onboarding time-to-live for enterprise and SMB customers.

You’ll consolidate dual databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL) and own backup/restore, ensuring reliable recoveries. This role is remote within the United States and reports to the CTO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, data platform, or a closely related role.
• Strong SQL with performance work on PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Production ingestion pipelines built and operated with idempotence in mind.
• Experience migrating customer data between systems with messy sources.
• Proficient in Python and C# for the transform layer.
• Daily use of AI coding agents with tests and looping workflows.

Responsibilities

• Get the migration pipeline into version control and CI, with a dry-run mode and safe re-runs.
• Publish our import contract so onboarding teams and customers know input expectations.
• Quantify onboarding time-to-live with separate metrics for enterprise and SMB.
• Own database configuration, backup, and restore across the fleet and prove restores work.
• Plan consolidation of MySQL and PostgreSQL engines with a live bridge and roadmap.
