Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Data Platform Engineer to lead modernization of a healthcare data platform. You will move from MSSQL XML object stores to a scalable AWS architecture, enabling fast SQL-based reporting and analytics for business users.

The role requires deep AWS data services experience, data modeling skills, and collaboration with C#/.Net back-end teams, BI stakeholders, and IaC/CDK/CloudFormation practitioners. Remote work with US-based constraints apply.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable cloud data platforms on AWS.
• Proven ability to migrate XML-based data to cloud-native stores.
• Strong SQL driving relational views over semi-structured data.
• Ability to translate business needs into data models and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead healthcare data platform modernization efforts.
• Architect migration of XML object store to AWS platform with optimal storage formats.
• Design reporting layers enabling SQL queries by non-technical users.
• Develop and optimize AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata.
• Collaborate with BI and stakeholders to meet reporting needs.
• Implement CI/CD for data infrastructure and IaC practices.
