Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Engineer, Data Platforms to lead the architecture and evolution of our Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lake. You will oversee multi-cloud data processing, governance, and secure access, enabling enterprise observability and analytics at scale.

The role requires deep experience with cloud-native platforms, Databricks, and strong leadership to drive platform modernization while aligning with OTEL and OCSF standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience architecting and operating enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
• 8+ years with Databricks including Unity Catalog and governance.
• 8+ years implementing Infrastructure-as-Code, platform automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Policy-as-Code.
• 7+ years designing high-scale streaming and telemetry ingestion architectures across Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hub, etc.
• 5+ years in leadership roles driving multi-cloud strategy and platform transformation.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps for the Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lake.
• Lead high-volume ingestion and processing (250+ TB per day) across multiple data types.
• Establish enterprise Databricks architecture, governance, and secure access models.
• Mentor engineers and drive adoption of cloud-native engineering practices and governance standards.
• Enable analytics, security analytics, observability, and AI/ML workloads on the data platform.
