Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment’s PDEGO team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Data Operations to own reliability and observability of our data platform in New York.

You will build monitoring systems, participate in incident response, automate operational tasks, and work with Snowflake infrastructure via Terraform, collaborating with Data Engineering to ensure scalable, trustworthy data access for global teams.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years in software engineering with SRE/platform/data infra experience.
• Proven incident response experience with stakeholder communication.
• Strong monitoring/observability, including SLOs and dashboards.
• Hands-on Snowflake data warehouse experience.
• Terraform / infrastructure‑as‑code experience.
• Familiarity with data pipeline tools (Fivetran, dbt, Airflow).
• AWS experience preferred.
• Clear, proactive communicator.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain monitoring systems and health dashboards.
• Contribute to incident triage, post-mortems, and stakeholder updates.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve throughput.
• Work on Snowflake infra via Terraform including access controls.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on reliable system design.
• Write runbooks, incident response playbooks, and docs.
• Improve platform reliability and data accessibility for global teams.
• Suggest improvements to tooling and processes.
