Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Data Operations in New York to own reliability, observability, and operational health of our data platform. You will build monitoring, lead incident responses, and automate toil across distributed systems.

You will work with Snowflake, Terraform, and data pipelines (Fivetran, dbt, Airflow) and collaborate with Data Engineering to design scalable, observable solutions for global customers.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years in software engineering with SRE/platform data infra experience.
• Proven incident response and post-incident analysis.
• Strong monitoring, SLOs, dashboards, and root-cause analysis.
• Hands-on Snowflake ops, cost governance and access control.
• Infra-as-code experience, Terraform strongly preferred.
• Familiar with data pipelines (Fivetran, dbt, Airflow).
• AWS experience and effective cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain monitoring systems, alerts, and health dashboards.
• Lead production incident response and post-mortem documentation.
• Automate repetitive operational work to improve throughput.
• Work on Snowflake infrastructure and Terraform configurations.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on reliable system design and reviews.
• Write runbooks, incident playbooks, and platform docs.
• Improve platform reliability and data accessibility for global teams.
