Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment in New York, NY seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Data Operations to own the reliability and operability of our data platform. You will build monitoring, incident response, and automation to support global teams.

Ideal candidates have 6–8+ years in software engineering with SRE or data infra experience, strong Snowflake/AWS skills, and a proven track record in production incident management and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years in software engineering with SRE, platform engineering, or data infrastructure experience.
• Proven track record in production incident response and post-incident analysis.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, alerting, dashboards and SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain monitoring systems, alerting pipelines, and health dashboards for real-time visibility.
• Lead production incident response: triage, resolution, stakeholder communication, and post-mortems.
• Automate repetitive operational work such as access requests and pipeline health checks.
• Work on Snowflake infrastructure via Terraform: access controls, cost monitoring, and warehouse configuration.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on system design, code reviews, and reliability goals.
• Write and maintain runbooks, incident response playbooks, and platform docs.
• Improve platform reliability, query performance, and data accessibility for global teams.
• Suggest and implement improvements to tooling and processes.
