Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on Platform Data Reliability and Automation. Join a world-class engineering team building scalable data platforms across AWS and GCP, emphasizing IaC, automation, and reliability for billions of transactions.

The role leads automation efforts, observes systems, and mentors engineers while collaborating with platform teams to deliver highly available data services for PlayStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 6+ years of software development and DBRE experience, with 3+ years in Go and IaC.
• Proficiency in Go, designing modular architectures for backend services.
• Experience with Terraform/Ansible and large-scale NoSQL, caching, streaming platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement IaC and automate provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and lifecycle management of NoSQL, Streaming, and Caching platforms.
• Drive end-to-end automation for self-service deployment of data services across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and resiliency of data solutions.
• Define SLIs/SLOs and error margins; lead incident response and RCA with automated fixes.
• Develop observability (metrics/logging/tracing) for Cassandra, Aerospike, Redis, Kafka/MSK.
• Mentor engineers and promote automation and platform reliability best practices.
