Job summary

H1 is seeking a Principal Analyst, Data Integration, to own the end-to-end onboarding of new data sources into the platform. You will define how sources map to H1's schemas, collaborate across Data & Research, Engineering, and Product, and translate client needs into concrete data specifications.

The role requires senior-level data experience in healthcare or life sciences, strong documentation, and the ability to communicate trade-offs to technical and client-facing teams.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in data-focused roles within healthcare data or life sciences.
• End-to-end ownership of data integrations from scoping to handoff.
• Healthcare or life sciences domain context; ability to ramp on new datasets quarterly.
• Analytical fluency to assess data quality; hands-on with VBA, R, or SPSS.
• Familiarity with data lake architectures and normalization to a product-ready state.
• Experience gathering requirements from client-facing stakeholders and translating to data/product specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation of new data sources from scratch, assessing schema, coverage, freshness, legal constraints, and fit against product needs.
• Own field mapping from source to H1 layers, producing data dictionaries and definitions.
• Define ingestion requirements, entity resolution rules, and refresh cadences for new sources.
• Translate client requirements into integration specifications; voice of what a new source can deliver.
• Oversee end-to-end source work: scoping, QA, entity matching, product launch.
• Work with Insights to develop new taxonomies and QA for novel data types.
• Define acceptance criteria and lead QA validation including field fill rates and comparisons.
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues post-integration; coordinate with teams as needed.
• Hand off to the maintaining team with mapping documentation; focus on onboarding.
• Produce and maintain documentation for scoping, mapping specs, and post-mortems.
