Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer with strong Python-based backend development, Django/DRF, Nuxt/Vue, AWS serverless, and data transformation experience to build scalable apps, data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native services.

The role spans backend and frontend, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, including AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy, AWS CDK, Terraform, and Docker. Compensation ranges and annual incentives apply; applications accepted through Aug 17, 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python, Django, and DRF in backend services.
• Experience building RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Experience in data processing with Pandas/NumPy for ETL/ELT workflows.
• Proficiency with AWS serverless services (Lambda, SQS, SNS) and related security concepts.
• Frontend experience with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Redis caching and PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement data validation and API response modeling using Pydantic.
• Develop authentication mechanisms (django-rest-knox, OAuth, Azure AD via MSAL).
• Create frontend apps with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Manage frontend state with Pinia and UI with Tailwind/Nuxt UI.
• Design data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery.
• Build ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy.
• Implement event-driven architectures with AWS SQS/SNS/Lambda/EventBridge.
• Develop serverless apps using AWS Lambda and Mangum.
• Manage caching with Redis/ElastiCache and relational design with PostgreSQL.
• Provision infra with AWS CDK (Python) and Terraform.
• Support CI/CD with GitHub Actions and automated testing.
• Ensure quality with unit/regression/functional/load tests and code reviews.
• Collaborate across distributed Agile teams.
• Adhere to AWS security best practices (IAM, Secrets Manager, WAF).
