Job summary

Pearson is hiring a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer in the United States to design and deliver scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines. You will work across Python/Django REST, Nuxt 4 frontend, and AWS serverless infrastructure in a distributed Agile setting.

You will implement data transformation, ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue and Pandas/NumPy, ensure security with IAM/WAF, and participate in CI/CD with GitHub Actions. The role offers a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Python, Django, DRF experience for backend services.
• REST APIs documented with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Data validation with Pydantic in APIs.
• Authentication using django-rest-knox and OAuth/Azure AD.
• Serverless backend using AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge.
• Frontend with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, TypeScript and Pinia.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services with Python, Django, DRF.
• Build RESTful APIs and document with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement data validation and API response modeling with Pydantic.
• Create frontend apps using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, TypeScript and Pinia.
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue and Pandas/NumPy.
• Manage cloud infra with AWS CDK and Terraform, Dockerized apps.
• Implement secure auth with django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure AD.
• Build serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum; monitor with tests.
