Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer in Austin to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on-prem and cloud environments. You will be a core developer for the Snowflake data platform, focusing on performance, data modeling, and storage structures.

You will mentor a data engineer, collaborate across teams, and evaluate dbt, Azure, and AWS tools to optimize data flow and enable AI-driven analytics.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of dedicated data engineering experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture and tuning.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud).
• Experience building semantic layers for AI/LLM or NLP capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time, and event-driven movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform; support performance, data modeling, storage.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines for data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 NL interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, templates, and CI/CD practices.
• Mentors data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates Azure/AWS data tools.
