Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and scale data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven workloads in hybrid environments. You will be a core Snowflake developer, optimizing models and data flows while enabling secure data sharing.

The role focuses on dbt, Azure Data Factory/Functions, and CI/CD best practices, with leadership duties and collaboration with analytics teams to mature data products.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with semantic layers and supporting AI/NLP features is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform, supporting performance, modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 natural-language interfaces.
• Establishes reusable templates, CI/CD practices, and governance for decentralized teams.
• Mentors one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
