Job summary

Sedgwick, a leading risk and claims administration partner, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on-premises and cloud environments, with a focus on Snowflake and dbt.

You will mentor a data engineer, collaborate with analytics teams, optimize data platforms, and advance semantic layers and AI-ready data models, leveraging Azure and AWS tools.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-premises to cloud).
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers for AI/LLM/natural-language search capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement.
• Core developer for the Snowflake data platform; supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, guiding analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates AWS/Azure tools to optimize data flow.
