Job summary

NAIC is actively seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise data solutions within the Enterprise Data Platform. You will collaborate with data architects, stewards, and business partners to translate requirements into scalable data tools and pipelines.

Candidates should have deep SQL, data modeling, and cloud experience, plus mentoring skills and a solid Agile/SAFe background. This is a remote, full‑time role with residency within 100 miles of Kansas City, MO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, data science, mathematics, statistics, information systems, or a related field with 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and cloud-based data technologies.
• Experience leading complex technical efforts, mentoring team members, and contributing to SDLC.
• Familiarity with Agile and SAFe values and methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise data solutions within the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).
• Analyze complex data sources and business requirements with stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable data solutions.
• Develop, optimize, and support data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, integration, and delivery of trusted data.
• Implement data governance, quality, and operational processes to ensure data assets are accurate, secure, and well‑managed.
• Provide technical guidance and escalation support for teams using data within the EDP, and mentor teammates.
